The business diploma school ( WDS ) was a type of school in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland .
The school was a preparation for a commercial profession . It combined basic commercial training with broad general education and prepared students for both professional practice and advanced training courses. The final diploma, known as the commercial diploma , is equivalent to the commercial apprenticeship diploma , but also qualifies you to attend various higher technical colleges and universities of applied sciences , but is not a Matura and is therefore not an entitlement to study at universities.
The school lasted 3 years. A transfer from the district school was possible with an average grade of 4.4 in the final examination.
The business diploma school was abolished in the 1999/2000 school year, ending in 2002, and replaced by the business school with an additional vocational baccalaureate. In 1999 there were still 99 admissions to the WDS.
