Wiseman is an American place ( census-designated place ) in Alaska ( Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area ) with about 20 inhabitants (2000). Wiseman is located in the Brooks Range and was founded by gold diggers who left Slate Creek (now Coldfoot ) around 1919 . Three miles from Wiseman is the Dalton Highway , with which the town has been connected since the 1990s.
