Witali Solomonowitsch Wygodski

Witali Solomonowitsch Wygodski ( Russian Виталий Соломонович Выгодский ; * December 23, 1928 in Moscow ; † May 8, 1998 ibid) was a Soviet economist who dealt particularly with the development of the economic work of Karl Marx .

Life

Karl Marx , Theories of Added Value , 1956

After graduating from school in 1946, he began to study physics at Lomonosov University in Moscow , but switched after three years and began studying political economy at the Moscow State Economic Institute in 1950, graduating in 1955. After successfully completing his studies, he devoted himself to his doctorate and at the same time worked at the Institute for Marxism-Leninism at the Central Committee of the CPSU from October 24, 1955 , where he was to work in various positions for another 35 years. In 1963, Vygodsky's first monograph was his doctoral thesis The Place of Theories on the added value in the economic legacy of Karl Marx. published by 1961. Another doctorate followed in 1974. Wygodski devoted himself a. a. also the Marx-Engels Complete Edition until shortly before his death in 1998 ( What did Engels actually publish in 1885 and 1894? In: MEGA-Studien, 1995). In total, his list of publications comprised around 100 entries.
