Witalij Mohylenko ( Ukrainian Віталій Могиленко , English transcription Vitaliy Mohylenko ; born July 5, 1965 in Sumy ) is a former Ukrainian biathlete .

Vitaly Mohylenko is a lecturer and lives in Sumy. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the re-establishment of national associations in the successor states, he was one of the first members of the national squad of Ukraine. At that time, already at the comparatively advanced age of 27, he had not made it to the international squad of the Soviet Union, although he had been biathlon since 1980. Like so many other athletes from the successor states, he benefited from the new places in the national squads. He made his international debut at the beginning of the 1992/93 season in Pokljuka in the World Cup , where he was 53rd in the individual and 90th in the sprint. The first career highlight was the interim Olympic World Championships in Borowetz in 1993 . Mohylenko came into action with the relay and reached fifth place as a starting runner alongside Toras Dolniy , Walentyn Dschyma and Ivan Maksymov , in the sprint he was 77. In his first season the Ukrainian also reached the points several times and was in the overall standings Season 49. The climax and conclusion of his career was his participation in the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer , where he finished 26th in the individual and again as the starting runner in the relay alongside Ivan Maksymov, Walentyn Dschyma and Roman Swonkow when he reached 15th. Place disappointed. With two penalty loops in standing, Mohylenko had the largest share in the poor departure of the Ukrainians.
