With Dead Hands Rising (often WDHR for short ) was an American death metal and metalcore band from Minneapolis , Minnesota , that was formed in 2001 and split up in 2009.

history

The band was formed in 2001. After the group signed a contract with Life Sentence Records , the band appeared on the split release Words as Weapons Volume 1 along with Wings of Scarlet and Tears Will Drown. In January 2003 the debut album Behind Inquisition was released , after which Dave Balaski came to the band as the new drummer. Shortly after the EP The Horror Grows Near was finished , singer Colin Strandberg left the band and was replaced by Burke VanRaalte in June 2004. In August he performed in the USA with Nehemiah . In 2008 the second album Expect Hell followed on Mediaskare Records . In 2009 the band broke up. On August 21, 2012, members of the band, along with other artists, attended a memorial concert in honor of the late Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence . The artists played here with the remaining members of the band.

style

The band played a mixture of death metal and metalcore and occasionally used elements from the grindcore area. The use of double bass was just as characteristic as the use of breakdowns .
