Witold Leszczyński

Witold Leszczyński (born August 16, 1933 in Łódź , † September 1, 2007 in Łódź) was a Polish film director , photographer and screenwriter .

life and career

Witold Leszczyński, born in 1933 in Łódź, studied film and sound engineering at the Polytechnic in Warsaw after graduating from high school in 1951 and worked as an acoustician in the film industry. He then studied directing at the Łódź Film School until 1963. It was at this time that his first short films were made. He directed his first feature film in 1968 with the drama The Life of Matthew .

Awards

Żywot Mateusza was the Polish contribution to the Cannes International Film Festival in 1968 and has received several awards at other film festivals.

Konopielka and Siekierezada also received prizes in Poland, Switzerland and Germany, including the main prize at the Polish Film Festival .
