The widow's house in Oedheim , a municipality in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg , is a widow's seat of the Barons Capler von Oedheim from the 16th century.

The half-timbered house was built by Ulrich Capler von Oedheim called Bautz outside of the former area of the Oedheim Castle on the Teutonic Order of Oedheim for his widow, who lived in the building around 1520. After Ulrich's widow had entered into a new marriage, the house was temporarily inhabited by commoners. In 1557 Eyda Caplerin, the widow of Christoph Capler, was the resident. The Capler widows enjoyed no special privileges, but, like other citizens, were also subject to compulsory labor and other obligations towards the local authorities , ie the Teutonic Order .

Over time, the house came into the possession of middle-class families, and the property was split into up to four parts. In 1960/61 the exterior was extensively renovated, in which the Capler family and the State Monument Office participated. In addition to the striking bay window , sayings painted on the half-timbered fields as well as a stone slab from 1620 decorated with a crucifixion group are part of the architectural decoration of the building.
