Vyacheslav Vyacheslavovich Malzew

Vyacheslav Vyacheslavovich Malzew ( Russian: Вячеслав Вячеславович Мальцев ; born June 7, 1964 in Saratov , Soviet Union ) is a Russian politician who, according to his own statement, has a nationalist orientation and uses populist methods. He became famous primarily as a popular video blogger with a YouTube channel that had over 100,000 subscribers.

Positions

Since 2013 Malzew had announced a "revolution". He is considered a sharp critic of Vladimir Putin and is a member of the Parnas political party . In May 2016 he won the Parnas primaries - with only 5,471 Internet votes, however - mainly thanks to the support of the numerous followers of his YouTube video blog "Artpodgotovka" / Plochie novosti (in German "Artillery preparation" / Bad news). In the 2016 Duma elections, he ran with the slogan “Repeal of anti-popular laws / Peace with Ukraine / Removal of Putin from office”.

Malzew was arrested by Russian police in Saratov on April 13, 2017. He then suffered a heart attack. He is believed to have left Russia in July 2017 to avoid further prosecution.

Since Malzew had given November 5, 2017 as the date for his revolutionary actions, supporters of Malzev were arrested across Russia in early November 2017. At least five of them were charged, and one fled abroad. Julija Latynina wondered, based on the fact that all kinds of Internet sites were blocked in Russia, why Malzew's site was only blocked five days before the date. The only beneficiary was the FSB in everything Malzew had done.

criticism

In the already divided Russian opposition, the nomination of the controversial Malzew led to great criticism. The primaries of the Parnas party, which according to various sources is the only party admitted to the Duma elections that is not loyal to the system - thanks to the mandate of the murdered Boris Nemtsov , who held a seat in the parliament of Yaroslavl, which automatically entitles Parnas to participate in the Duma elections - were originally intended as a vehicle to enable members of parties not allowed to participate in the elections to stand for candidacy. These included the progress party of Alexei Navalny , or the party of December 5th ( Konstantin Jankauskas , Roman Dobrochotow ) as well as independent politicians. Due to a poor technical organization of the primaries on the Internet, as well as disputes between the exponents of the Progress Party and Parnas, the primaries ended in a fiasco; the number of voters was extremely low. So Malzew was able to achieve 1st place - 1st place on the final list was reserved by President von Parnas and former Prime Minister Mikhail Kassyanov - and was confirmed at the party congress as list number 2 on the nationwide list.

In his statement, Ilya Yashin said that Malzew's appearance had opened his eyes: "All he had to do was open his mouth and a foul-smelling sewer opened." The criticism of Yashin had provoked Malzew's statements on the world masonic conspiracy, the Jewish mafia, which controls health care in Russia, and abuses against other members of the same opposition party as Vladimir Kara-Mursa . Yashin also called him a ridiculous caricature by Vladimir Zhirinovsky .
