Vladimir Strelnikov

Vladimir Strelnikow (* 1939 in Odessa , Ukrainian SSR ) is a contemporary Ukrainian painter .

While still studying at the Odessa State Art School (1959–1962) Strelnikov made his debut in 1960 in the autumn exhibition of the Artists' Union in Odessa and took part in numerous officially recognized art exhibitions in the USSR and abroad until 1971 .

His artistic development led to his state recognition being withdrawn. Since 1972 he was no longer able to make his works available to the public, but to a very interested public in private apartments in Kiev , Odessa, Moscow and Leningrad (today's Saint Petersburg ). In 1978 the painter emigrated to Vienna - he was forced to leave the USSR because of his artistic activity - and settled in Munich the following year , where he still lives and works today.
