Vladimir Chernyayev is a former Soviet ski jumper .

Tschernjajew jumped annually from 1977 as part of the Four Hills Tournament . On December 30, 1979, he made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup at the inaugural competition in Oberstdorf . In his first years on tour and also in the first year of the World Cup, however, he was unsuccessful and was only able to jump into the top ten in January 1981 in Harrachov , Liberec and St. Moritz and thus gain World Cup points. In Liberec he also achieved the highest result of his career with 6th place. After jumping into the top ten at the end of the season in Falun , he ended the 1980/81 season in 24th place in the overall World Cup standings. In the following three years, however, there were again no great successes. Only at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1982 he was able to draw attention to himself again after a disappointing 52nd place on the normal hill with 13th place on the large hill. After he could not repeat this success, Chernyayev ended his active ski jumping career after completing the Four Hills Tournament in 1983/84 .
