Vladimir Yastrebchak ( Russian Владимир Валерьевич Ястребчак ; Romanian Vladimir Iastrebciak ; also Iastrebceak ; Ukrainian Володимир Валерійович Ястребчак / Volodymyr Walerijowytsch Yastrebchak * 9. October 1979 in Tiraspol , Moldavian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Transnistrian politician and was from 28 November 2008 to on January 17, 2012 Foreign Minister of Transnistria .

Life

Vladimir Yastrebchak studied law at the Taras Shevchenko State Transnistrian University in his hometown of Tiraspol. During his studies, which he graduated in 2001, he worked in the Transnistrian Ministry of Justice. Since March 2001 he has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2003 he was head of the legal department. On February 14, 2007 he was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister. After Foreign Minister Valery Lizkai was dismissed by President Igor Smirnov , Yastrebchak initially held the post of Foreign Minister on a provisional basis and officially took it over on November 28, 2008. In January 2012 he was replaced in this position by Nina Schtanski . Since 2012 he has been working for the mobile communications group Mobilight .

Yastrebchak has a Ukrainian family background.
