The village of Wohlmuthausen is a suburb of the city of Forchtenberg in the Hohenlohe district in Baden-Württemberg .

Geographical location

The living spaces on the plateaus between Hirschbach, Sall and Kupfer form six settlement groups. In the northeast, Wohlmuthausen lies in a shallow spring hollow at 336  m above sea level. NN . The townscape is characterized by large farmhouses with extended utility areas. At the southern entrance to the village, the stately council house and former school building, built in 1905, as well as the Gasthaus zum Hirsch dominate. In the north-west, the Halsäcker development area began to develop in the late 1970s .

Wohlmuthausen can be reached in a few minutes from the federal motorway 6 , the Neuenstein junction. The state road L 1046 forms the main axis (Hohenlohestraße) of the small village. The place is connected to the local traffic in the transport association H3NV with bus lines.

history

The place Wohlmuthausen was first mentioned in a document in 1231. It was most likely made in the 11th or 12th century. The entire district of Wohlmuthausen was covered by the clearing quite late. It was probably completely uninhabited around 1050. From the 13th century, Wohlmuthausen belonged to the Reichsministerial von Weinsberg . When the country was divided in 1553, Wohlmuthausen came to Hohenlohe-Neuenstein . From 1835 to November 30, 1971, Wohlmuthausen was an independent municipality. Since December 1, 1971, Wohlmuthausen and the surrounding villages of Metzdorf, Schwarzenweiler, Orbachshof, Hohensall and Haberhof have been part of the city of Forchtenberg. On December 31, 2008, 407 residents were registered in Wohlmuthausen.

The village is an agricultural place and has no economic infrastructure worth mentioning.

Culture

The Hohenlohe dialect is still alive and is not only spoken by the older residents. The volunteer fire brigade, the choral society, the rural women’s club and the HWRT motorsport club enrich the cultural offer with a variety of offers.

Regular events:

  • The choral society and the fire brigade organize an annual Hocketse.
  • The village Christmas takes place on the Saturday before the fourth Advent, in which all local associations actively participate.
