Residential house Franziskanerstraße 5

The house at Franziskanerstraße 5 is located in Bremen , Mitte district, Altstadt district, Franziskanerstraße at the corner of Hohe Straße. The house was built after 1837 according to plans by building inspector Friedrich Moritz Stamm . It has been a listed building in Bremen since 1973 .

The short Franziskanerstraße leads in the Schnoor quarter in a north-south direction from the Lange Wieren to Hohe Straße, past the Gothic church of St. Johann . The street was named after the Franciscans who operated a monastery in Bremen on the site from around 1225 to 1528/29 .

history

The three-storey, classicist ; The plastered house with two gables dates from after 1837. In 1988 a renovation took place.
Today (2018) it is a residential and office building.

The architect Stamm planned u. a. the gatehouse ensemble at the Ostertor in Bremen (today Gerhard-Marcks-Haus and Wilhelm-Wagenfeld-Haus ).
