Karl Dillschneider
Karl Dillschneider (born December 8, 1904 in Berlin ; † September 21, 1998 in Bremen ) was a German architect , construction clerk and preservationist in Bremen.
biography
Dillschneider was the son of an architect and later town planning inspector for Wilhelmshaven . He studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and the Technical University of Munich and graduated with a degree in engineering . From 1928 to 1937 he worked in the Rhineland . After his marriage to a woman from Bremerhaven , he worked in a planning association of Oldenburg-Bremen architects.
After his military service from 1944 to 1945 in World War II , he was employed as an architect in the planning office of the Bremen building authorities and became a building officer in 1954 and senior building officer in 1965. Since 1959 he has been committed to the preservation of the Schnoor district . In 1964, as the successor to Rudolf Stein, he became head of the city's monument preservation office . He was followed in 1971 - now as state curator - by Hans-Christoph Hoffmann.
For many years, Dillschneider was chairman of the Lower Saxony People's Association . As a good draftsman and watercolorist , he made a number of pictures of buildings in Bremen.

Dillschneider received various awards, especially for his services to the preservation of monuments in Bremen :

- 1979: Papal Order of Honor Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice
- 1984: Senate Medal for Art and Science of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen
- 1986: Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic
