Coat of arms of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic

The coat of arms of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic was introduced into the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1937 and was used until the collapse of the Soviet Union . In 1992 it was replaced by the current coat of arms of Armenia .

The coat of arms of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic consisted in the background of Mount Ararat , which is of great symbolic importance for the Armenians, and a red, shining star with a hammer and sickle above it. Grapes, which were also grown in the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic, are depicted in front of Mount Ararat. Grain is depicted around the mountain and the grapes.

On the edge of the coat of arms is written in Armenian in large letters Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic (Armenian: Հայկական Սովետական Սոցիալիստական Հանրապետություն ). At the bottom, in small letters, is the motto Proletarians of all countries, unite! both in Armenian ( Պրոլետարներ բոլոր երկրների, միացե'ք ) and in Russian ( Пролетарии всех стран, соединяйтесь! ).
