Coat of arms of the Turkmen SSR
The coat of arms of the Turkmen SSR is based on the national coat of arms of the Soviet Union . It shows symbols of agriculture ( cotton and ears of wheat ) and heavy industry ( oil production facilities ) as well as a symbol of religion (a Koran from Islam ). The rising sun stands for the future of the country of Turkmenistan , the star and hammer and sickle for the victory of communism and the “global socialist community of states”.
On the banner is the motto “ Workers of all countries, unite! “Indicated in Russian and Turkmen languages . In the Turkmen language of the Soviet era , the sentence “Әxли юртлариң пролетарлары, бирлешиң!” Was written (in today's Latin script “Ähli ýurtlaryň proletarlary, birleşiň!”), In Russian it reads ясех! »
The country's abbreviation is given only once as it is the same in Russian and Turkmen.
