Coat of arms of the Georgian SSR
The coat of arms of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic was introduced into the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1921 and was used until the collapse of the Soviet Union . In 1991 it was replaced by the coat of arms of Georgia , which was in use as early as 1918–1921.
The coat of arms of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic consisted in the foreground of Mount Shchara , the highest mountain in the country, as well as ears of grain and grapes , which indicate the fertility of the country . Above it stands a shining red star over a hammer and sickle . Below that, in small letters in Georgian and Russian, is the motto Proletarians of all countries, unite! ( პროლეტარებო ყველა ქვეყნისა, შეერთდით! / Пролетарии всех стран, соединяйтесь! )
The coat of arms is surrounded by ornaments.
