Coat of arms of the Moldavian SSR (1957–1981)

The coat of arms of the Moldavian SSR existed between February 10, 1941 and November 1990, during the period of the existence of the Moldavian SSR as a republic of the Soviet Union .

Blazon

In the blazon , the coat of arms is described as a shield-less round shape. A hammer hovers crossed on the right and a sickle on the left over a radiant golden rising sun . On the sides of the symbol, made of vines and other fruits, crossed golden ears of wheat and each an earth-colored corn on the cob draped with a red bow. Centered on the loop in white Cyrillic capital letters "PCCM" and on the sides and in the way the currency "Workers of the world you combined!" In Romanian ( " Moldovan ") and Russian language (Moldovan in Cyrillic letters Пролетарь дин тоате цэриле, уници -вэ ! , which in Romanian Latin script corresponds to Proletari din toate țările, uniți-vă!, in Russian Пролетарии всех стран, соединяйтесь! ). A five-pointed gold-framed red star hovers over the coat of arms .

Symbolism: The red star indicates belonging to communism . In the lower part, grapevines , apples and pears are depicted. Ears of wheat and ears of corn surround the coat of arms on the left and right . The hammer and sickle symbolize the communist state policy.

Coat of arms of Transnistria

In the middle of the band is written РССМ (abbreviation for Република Советикэ Сочиалистэ Молдовеняскэ , Republica Sovietică Socialistă Moldovenească ; German : Moldauische Sozialistische Soviet Republik ) in Cyrillic letters .

Currently, the coat of arms is used again in a slightly modified form by Transnistria , which is not recognized under international law .

history

The first coat of arms from 1940 to 1941 was based on the coat of arms of the Russian SFSR . Between 1941 and 1990 the coat of arms changed only slightly.

With the fall of communism in the Soviet Union , a new coat of arms was introduced. This was also introduced as the national coat of arms after independence from the USSR .
