Motto (motto) Deodorant Juvante

The coat of arms of Monaco is the emblem of the princely family Grimaldi used since 1858 .

description

The red and silver roughened French shield is framed by a hermelin- lined coat and surmounted by a crown.

The chain and the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Charles surround the shield.

Two minorite monks armed with swords serve as shield holders and are a reminiscence of the conquest of Monaco in 1297 by the soldiers of Francesco Grimaldi , who disguised themselves as monks.

The ribbon under the shield shows the Latin motto of the Grimaldis:

" Deodorant Juvante "
( With God's help ).
