The coat of arms of Montenegro , which is also part of the state flag , was adopted by parliament in 2004.
description
The coat of arms depicts the golden, red-tongued, gold-crowned double - headed eagle of the Montenegrin dynasty Petrović , which bears the royal insignia .
In the right catch a golden scepter and left the gold-ripened blue orb .
Instead of the royal initials NI ( Cyrillic H.I. ) of King Nikola I , however, a golden lion striding over a green field is used in blue on the split breast shield .
The coat of arms can also be found on the flag of Montenegro .
