The coat of arms of Sweden is the national coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden .

According to the current 1982 law, Sweden has two national coats of arms , the small and the large, which are pictorially shown. In most cases the small national coat of arms is used.

Large national coat of arms

The large national coat of arms is the coat of arms of the monarch and is used by the Reichstag and the government on special occasions.

Description : A coat of arms crossed by a narrow golden paw cross shows three golden crowns (2: 1) in blue in the first and fourth field and in the blue second and third field a gold crowned golden lion over sloping white waves. A split heart shield lies over the crossing . In front for the Wasa dynasty , divided diagonally twice by blue, silver and red, with the golden Wasa color on top . In the back for the dynasty founded by Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte , seven golden stars of the constellation of the Big Dipper above a golden Napoleonic eagle in blue . Under this a silver bridge with three arches and two towers for the Principality of Pontecorvo . The heraldic shield is held by two gold-crowned golden red-tongued and red-armored double-tailed lions. Above the shield, the golden royal crown with a blue orb . Everything is held together by the coat of arms adorned with Hermelin with a golden crown and a golden orb. The Order of the Seraphine hangs around the shield.

The small national or imperial coat of arms reflects the main elements of the large coat of arms. The coat of arms is also called Tre Kronor, three-crown coat of arms .
