Wolf Rieck

Wolf Rieck (* 1943 in Heiligenstadt , Thuringia ) is a German economist . From 2003 to 2008 he was President of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences .

Life

Wolf Rieck studied economics with a focus on business education in Göttingen and Frankfurt. From 1975 to 1980 he was a research assistant at the University of Frankfurt and received his doctorate in 1981. After a brief activity at the Hessian Ministry of Justice in Wiesbaden, he was involved in an agency for organizational and personnel development as well as public relations from 1982 to 1991. At the same time he taught at the Protestant University of Darmstadt . In 1995 he became a manager in the areas of public relations, organizational and personnel development as well as personnel management at the airport operator Fraport of Frankfurter Flughafen AG.

In 1994 he was appointed to a professorship for general business administration , in particular human resources, at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. Rieck was a member of the council and senate as well as the departmental council of the department of economics. He was dean of the economics department and, since 1998, prorector for studies and international relations at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences.

Wolf Rieck was President of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences from 2003 to 2008 . From 2005 to 2007 Rieck was chairman of the Conference of Hessian Technical College Presidia (KHF) .

From 2008 to 2012 he took on the task of establishing the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) as the founding president.
