Wolfgang Auhagen
Wolfgang Auhagen (* 1953 in Hamburg ) is a German musicologist .
Life
Wolfgang Auhagen studied musicology, art history and philosophy at the Georg-August University in Göttingen from 1973 to 1982 . There he received his doctorate with the dissertation Studies on key characteristics in theoretical writings and compositions from the late 17th to the beginning of the 20th century and habilitated in 1992 with a thesis on the subject of experimental investigations into the auditory tonality determination in melodies . He teaches at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . Auhagen has been an external member of the Academy of Charitable Sciences in Erfurt since 2005 .
From 2006 to 2010 he was Vice Dean of the Philosophical Faculty II of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and from 2009 to 2017 the President of the Society for Music Research .
