Wolfgang Bernhardt

Wolfgang Bernhardt (born December 6, 1935 in Hanau ) is a German manager, management consultant and university lecturer.

Bernhardt studied law and political science in Freiburg im Breisgau and received his doctorate there. After passing the second state examination in law, he first worked as a lawyer. He later held leading positions in industrial companies, for example as a general representative of Friedrich Flick KG and as deputy chairman of the board of Korf -Stahl AG. Since 1983 he has worked as a freelance consultant for banks and industrial companies - many of which are family companies. In addition, he took on reorganization and privatization tasks from time to time, B. for the Treuhandanstalt . From 2003 to 2005 he was CEO of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung GmbH. On January 1, 2006 he became chairman of the supervisory board of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung GmbH and chairman of the board of trustees of the FAZIT foundation . For Bernhardt the special personal regulation applied that he did not have to leave the group of shareholders of the FAZIT Foundation until he reached the age of 78, while for all others a maximum age of 75 applies. In 2012 he left the FAZ Supervisory Board.

Since the winter semester 1993/94 Bernhardt has been teaching at the economics faculty of the University of Leipzig , where he was appointed honorary professor for corporate management in 1997.

From 2001 to 2008 Bernhardt was a member of the international college of auditors at the Prefecture for Economic Affairs of the Holy See in Rome. In 2017 he received an honorary doctorate from the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg .

Bernhardt is a member of the Catholic student associations K.St.V. Brisgovia Freiburg and K.St.V. Frankonia-Strasbourg to Frankfurt am Main in the KV .
