Wolfgang Garvelmann (born October 19, 1924 in Düsseldorf ; † March 11, 2012 in Gaienhofen- Horn) was a German anthroposophical doctor and curative educator .

Life

He came into contact with Rudolf Steiner's work at an early age, and he remained connected to his anthroposophy throughout his life.

During the reign of National Socialism in Germany, Wolfgang Garvelmann emigrated to the Netherlands , where he became familiar with both Bernard Lievegoed's curative educational approach and the anthroposophical-Christosophical work of Valentin Tomberg . His subsequent conversion to the Catholic Church, he did not take part, but founded a curative education home in Gaienhofen-Horn on Lake Constance , called "Haus Höri" after completing his medical training . He was active in its leadership and management for almost forty years together with his wife Sigrid, who was a trained curative teacher.

As part of the ELIAS initiative community, Garvelmann campaigned for a better understanding of the spiritual testament of Bernard Lievegoed from 1994 onwards , who in his last work "On saving the soul" had shown the anthroposophical movement a rich and varied esoteric task.

After gradually withdrawing from direct responsibility for "Haus Höri", Garvelmann finally got involved in the work of Judith von Halle .

On March 11, 2012, Garvelmann died of a stroke.
