Wolfgang Girnus

Wolfgang Girnus (born May 4, 1949 in Berlin ) is a German science historian and politician ( SED , then PDS ) and a former member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

In addition to his Abitur, Wolfgang Girnus completed an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for mechanical engineering. He studied at the Technical University of Dresden , graduating as a graduate teacher for chemistry and mathematics in 1972. He then worked as a research assistant at the Academy of Sciences of the GDR , at the Institute for Theory, History and Organization of Science. There he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. In 1991 he admitted working with the Ministry of State Security as an unofficial employee , but did not resign.

politics

Girnus joined the SED in 1968 and remained a member even after it was renamed PDS. From May to December 1990 he was a member of the city ​​council of Berlin , then from 1991 to 2001 of the Berlin House of Representatives .
