Wolfgang Jilke

Wolfgang Jilke (* 1949 in Innsbruck ( Tyrol )) is an Austrian officer , he was Force Commander of the UN peacekeeping force , United Nations Disengagement Observer Force on the Golan from February 12, 2007 to March 1, 2010 , his rank is major general .

career

Wolfgang Jilke graduated from the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt , from 1971 to 1978 he was platoon and company commander of an armored infantry company, then Jilke completed the general staff course. In 1991 he also worked as a teacher at the National Defense Academy and commander of the 9th Panzer Grenadier Brigade. He was head of cabinet in the Ministry of Defense from 2000 to 2002.

International uses

Wolfgang Jilke was company commander on missions abroad in Egypt and Syria ( UNDOF bequatt ), furthermore deputy UNDOF chief of staff. He studied at the Royal College of Defense Studies in London, was Deputy Head of the Austrian Military Mission in Brussels and, from 2003, Military Representative to the EU and NATO .

He is the father of two children.
