Wolfgang Kruse

Wolfgang Kruse (born September 10, 1957 in Bielefeld ) is a German historian . His main research interests are the history of the First World War, the French Revolution, the German and international labor movement and the political cult of the dead.

Scientific career

Wolfgang Kruse studied history since 1977 at Bielefeld University , Free University of Berlin and Technical University of Berlin . In 1990 he was with Reinhard Rürup in Berlin with the work war and national integration. A reinterpretation of the social democratic Treaty of the 1914/15 doctorate. In 2001, Kruse obtained a habilitation thesis at the FernUniversität Hagen , The Invention of Modern Militarism. War, military and civil society in the political discourse of the French Revolution 1789–1799 as well as a trial lecture on Schinkel's Neue Wache and the political cult of the dead in modern German history. There he teaches as an academic senior councilor and adjunct professor in the field of history of European modernism.
