Arthur Schlegelmilch

Arthur Schlegelmilch (born March 28, 1958 in Bamberg ) is a German historian and professor at the Distance University in Hagen .

Career

Arthur Schlegelmilch studied history at the Free University of Berlin , where he received his doctorate from Otto Büsch in 1991 with an investigation into the immediate post-war history of Berlin . From 1989 to 1995 he worked for the Historical Commission in Berlin and at the Free University of Berlin. He has been employed at the Fernuniversität Hagen since 1995 and qualified as a professor there in 2001 with Peter Brandt . Initially working as a research assistant at the Department of Modern German and European History at the Distance University in Hagen, he is an adjunct professor at the Distance University Hagen and Managing Director of the Institute for History and Biography .

Schlegelmilch is a board member of the Dimitris Tsatsos Institute for European Constitutional Studies in Hagen and a member of the Association for Constitutional History .

Schlegelmilch's main research interests are the European constitutional history of the 19th century and the experience of the GDR .
