Wolfgang Lützner (born October 6, 1960 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German lawyer and local politician ( CDU ). From April 2010 to March 2018 he was Lord Mayor of Böblingen .

Life

Lützner grew up in the Upper Black Forest and after graduating from secondary school in 1977 at the Federal Academy for Musical Youth Education in Trossingen, he passed the examination as an instructor in the music association, specializing in drums. In the following years he worked as a trainer at the Staufen eV youth music school. After graduating from high school, he studied law . From 1993 to 1998 he worked as a lawyer , most recently with his own law firm in Jena . In 1998 he ran for the office of mayor of Süßen and prevailed against the incumbent. In 2006 Lützner was awarded approx. 96% of the votes re-elected.

In 2010 he was elected Lord Mayor of Böblingen with 55.96 percent in the second ballot.

In the CDU, he was involved in the Communal Political Association (KPV), where he was elected district chairman of the KPV Göppingen and the state board of the KPV Baden-Württemberg . When he took office in Böblingen, he resigned as district chairman of the KPV in the GP district. In 2012 Lützner was elected as deputy state chairman of the KPV Baden-Württemberg.

In the election on February 4, 2018, Lützner lost 28.2% to the candidate of the Greens, Stefan Belz , who already received the absolute majority required for election with 51.3% in the first ballot. He resigned from the Mayor's office on April 1, 2018 after only one term.
