Wolfgang Lehmann (surgeon)

Wolfgang Lehmann (born July 20, 1972 in Kiel ) is a German surgeon and university professor for orthopedics and trauma surgery in Göttingen.

Career

Wolfgang Lehmann studied medicine at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . After the physics course, Lehmann continued his clinical studies at the Hannover Medical School (MHH). In 1999 he received his doctorate with a biomechanical thesis on injuries to the cervical spine in trauma surgery at the MHH.

In 1999 he began his clinical training at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and then worked until 2001 in Boston / MA at Boston University as a Research Fellow of the German Research Foundation (DFG). After returning to Hamburg at the UKE , he completed his habilitation two years later in surgery .

After his specialist examination with a focus on trauma surgery in 2007, Lehmann became senior physician at the Clinic for Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery , University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). In 2012, he was appointed adjunct professor. Before he was called to Göttingen, he had been the senior consultant and deputy director of the Clinic for Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at the UKE since March 2014. In 2016 he was offered the professorship for trauma surgery and orthopedics at the University Medicine in Göttingen. Since then he has headed the Clinic for Trauma Surgery, Orthopedics and Plastic Surgery in Göttingen.

Wolfgang Lehmann's scientific specialty is surgery of the trunk skeleton . This includes the entire pelvic and spine surgery. He has published numerous international writings and operating theory. He organizes national and international pelvic surgery courses.
