Wolfgang Lempert

Wolfgang Lempert (born April 1, 1930 in Breslau ; † October 9, 2018 ) was a German educator .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1950, he did an apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1950 to 1953 , which was followed by training and work as a trade teacher from 1954 to 1958 . From 1957 to 1961 he studied sociology, philosophy and educational science at the University of Göttingen . After receiving his doctorate in 1961, he was a research assistant at the University for International Educational Research from 1961 to 1964 . From 1964 to 1995 he was project manager at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development . After his habilitation in 1967 for the subject of business education, he has been teaching as an adjunct professor for educational science at the Free University of Berlin since 1972 . From 1996 to 2003 he was a lecturer in sociology and vocational education at the TU Berlin .

The focus of his work was training and socialization of apprentices, professional and personal development of apprenticeship graduates, professionalization of their trainers and teachers, moral socialization and professional education, Pierre Bourdieu .
