Wolfgang M. Rosam

Wolfgang M. Rosam (born March 4, 1957 in Spittal an der Drau ) is an Austrian PR consultant and publisher and editor-in-chief of the gourmet magazine Falstaff . He is also active as an author and journalist.

Life

Wolfgang Rosam grew up in the Austrian state of Carinthia in Spittal an der Drau, where he was already active in school politics. a. as state school spokesman for AHS Carinthia. After graduating from high school, W. Rosam volunteered for the Austrian Armed Forces for a year, where he eventually became a media mediation officer. He also attended the College for Advertising and Sales at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the College for Management and Organization on Spengergasse, also in Vienna.

Professional career

In 1978, Wolfgang Rosam joined the Mautner Markhof Group as a marketing manager. By 1982 he had worked his way up to managing director of the company's own PR agency Publico. Five years later, a management buy-out followed and with it the one hundred percent acquisition of the public relations agency by Wolfgang Rosam. In 1990 Publico had achieved market leadership in the Austrian market and further branches were opened in Klagenfurt , Graz , Salzburg , Linz and Budapest .

The orders of these years include, among other things, the rebuilding of the image of Austrian wine after the glycol wine scandal , which brought in the state price for public relations. Furthermore, Publico led a PR campaign commissioned by the federal government for the Austrian referendum on EU accession, for which Rosam was awarded the European PR Prize. The company also carried out another campaign for the federal government to introduce the euro . In addition, Publico was the first agency in Austria to offer the lobbying branch.

In 2003 Rosam sold the first part of Publico to the German ECC Group, based in Düsseldorf. From this year until 2005 he was also on the “Board of Directors” of the Pleon PR Group. In 2004 he sold the remaining shares in Publico to the Pleon Group and to the employees of Publico.

In October 2005, Wolfgang Rosam founded the communications agency Wolfgang Rosam Change Communications GmbH , which he leads as managing partner. In 2010 he finally acquired 100% of the shares in Brandstätter Business Communications GmbH . The companies eventually merged and since then have been called Rosam Change Communications GmbH , which is a member of the agency networks Leading Advisors Group and The Councelors . According to the bestseller PR agency ranking 2011, Rosam Change Communications GmbH ranks third in the Austrian market in terms of sales.

Rosam's center of life has been Vienna since the beginning of his professional career, where he lives with his wife Angelika and their two children in the Hietzing district .

Falstaff

In 2004 Wolfgang Rosam founded the Falstaff Gourmet Club, a format that turns the members themselves into restaurant critics through SMS voting. The Falstaff Restaurant Guide and other gourmet guides for wine and hotels are published annually. From 2009 to 2010 Rosam increased its shares in the gourmet magazine Falstaff , from 25% to 100%, with 10% belonging to his wife Angelika. The gourmet magazine has 170,000 readers in Austria and around 300,000 readers in Germany.

Awards

In 2007 he received the Gold Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria .
