Wolfgang Maaß (editor)

Wolfgang Maaß (born January 2, 1955 in Rotenburg an der Wümme ) is a German business lawyer . He is the managing director of the Brühlsche Universitätsdruckerei in Gießen and was publisher and editor-in-chief of the Gießener Anzeiger until May 2014 .

Maass studied law and economics at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen and was subsequently 1980-1984 research assistant and a PhD Dr. jur. He worked for Deutsche Bank AG from 1984 to 1987 , where he rose to become an authorized signatory at the bank headquarters in Frankfurt. In 1987 Maaß moved to the management of the Giessen press and printing company, where he was also responsible for the chief editor from 1990.

Until 2014 he was Chairman of the Association of Hessian Newspaper Publishers and President of the IHK Gießen-Friedberg , which appointed him honorary president after 12 years of presidency. He is still on the University Council of the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. and on the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Gießen.
