Wolfgang Moser (diplomat)
Wolfgang Moser (born May 27, 1948 in Bad Hersfeld ) is a retired German diplomat and most recently Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cambodia from 2010 to 2013 .
Life
After studying Sinology, Sociology and Economic Geography at the Universities of Hamburg and Singapore, he received his doctorate in 1977. phil. at the University of Hamburg .
After joining the Foreign Service in 1978, he worked at the Embassy in the People's Republic of China (Second Secretary) and at the Foreign Office in Bonn (Political Department). From 1986 to 1989 Moser was counselor and chargé d' affaires at the embassy in Cyprus and then until 1992 in the same function at the embassy in Ivory Coast . From 1992 to 1994 Moser was the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Lesotho . After serving as head of a department in the Foreign Office, he became Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Houston in 1997 .
He then was Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Marseille from 2000 to 2003 , then from 2003 to July 2006 head of a department at the Foreign Office in Berlin. From 2006 to 2010 Ambassador to Madagascar and most recently from 2010 to 2013 before his retirement as Ambassador to Cambodia .
