Wolfgang Panzer (politician)

Wolfgang Panzer (born December 1967 in Munich ) is a German local politician ( SPD ).

Life

Panzer was born as the son of the former Unterhaching councilor Volker Panzer. For more than 20 years he worked as an administrative specialist in the district of Munich , including at the building permit authority and as deputy head of the vehicle registration and driving license office. In the local elections in March 2002 he was elected to the Unterhaching municipal council for the first time.

In 2008, Panzer was elected mayor of Unterhaching, succeeding Erwin Knapek (SPD) . In the runoff election on March 16, 2008, he prevailed with 70.22 percent of the vote. In 2014 he was re-elected mayor in the first ballot with 52.9 percent of the vote against four opposing candidates.

In 2003 Panzer married his wife Nicole. They have a daughter and a son since September 2013.

Panzer is a member of the volunteer fire brigade , the Unterhaching building cooperative, the D`Hachingertaler local folklore and traditional costume association , the local museum support association , the city partnership circle , the workers' welfare organization, the VdK , the neighborhood help , the TSV-Unterhaching , the Hachinger Stockschützen, the allotment garden association on Sportpark, at the development association 1. ABC-Zug München-Land, as well as at the Unterhachinger SPD.
