Wolfgang Pelzer

Wolfgang Pelzer (born May 4, 1951 in Cologne ; † May 14, 2013 there ) was a German author and educator.

Life

Pelzer grew up in Cologne and studied from 1970 to 1976 at the University of Cologne philosophy , German , history, education and art history teacher . In 1979 he began training as a trainee. After passing the 2nd state examination and a brief activity at the Nicolaus-Cusanus-Gymnasium in Bergisch Gladbach , he switched to the Fredeburg boarding school in Bad Fredeburg in the Sauerland in 1982 as an educator . Pelzer was a Roman Catholic, had four children, and was divorced. He lived in Bad Fredeburg in the Hochsauerland until 2008. In 2008 he moved back to the Cusanus-Gymnasium in Bergisch Gladbach, where he taught German, history and philosophy.

Pelzer had a serious bicycle accident in 2011 and had to undergo medical treatment, and he was diagnosed with cancer. This was successfully overcome. He died of an aneurysm .

Writing activity

At the center of his books were questions of upbringing , which he tried to answer from a more conservative point of view. His best-known book is the Rowohlt picture monograph on the pedagogue Janusz Korczak .
