Wolfgang Richter (physicist, 1940)

Wolfgang Richter (born January 2, 1940 in Bad Freienwalde (Oder) ; † February 12, 2013 ) was a German solid-state physicist and university professor .

Life

Wolfgang Richter completed his habilitation in 1976 at the Technical University of Aachen with a thesis on Raman scattering on semiconductors.

From 1988 until his retirement in 2005 he was professor at the Institute for Solid State Physics at the Technical University of Berlin . In the field of interface and surface appearance his scientific work to fundamental insights that are essential for the industrial application of the optical led in situ - spectroscopy contributed.
