Wolfgang Roggendorf

Wolfgang Roggendorf (born July 17, 1944 in Munich ; † July 31, 2012 ) was a German pathologist. His main research interests were primarily brain tumors and cancers and degenerative diseases of the nervous system.

Career

Roggendorf studied medicine at the universities of Mainz, Vienna, Essen and Bonn from 1966 to 1972. He qualified as a professor in Berlin in 1984 in neuropathology . From 1989 he was Professor of Neuropathology and Head of Neuropathology at the Pathological Institute of the University of Würzburg .
