Wolfgang Schneider (architect)
Wolfgang Schneider (born February 25, 1948 in Fredeburg ) is a German architect and honorary president of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects . He is married and has three children.
Life
Wolfgang Schneider studied engineering at the Höxter University of Applied Sciences from 1967 to 1971 and architecture at the Technical University of Berlin from 1971 to 1975. He concluded his diploma with distinction. From 1975 to 1976 he was a research assistant at the Technical University of Berlin, from 1976 to 1984 research assistant with a teaching position at the Institute for Design and Building Theory University of Hanover . From 1985 to 1989 he worked in the architectural office Graaf-Schweger + Partner and took over the management of the office in Hanover, in 1990 he became partner and co-owner of the architects Schweger + Partner (2002 to 2006 ASP Architects Schweger Partner); from 2001 to 2007 also managing partner of Schweger Assoziierte GmbH in Hamburg. Since 2006 Wolfgang Schneider and Professor Wilhelm Meyer have been working as freelance architects and urban planners BDA in the partner company ASP Architects Schneider Meyer Partner in Hanover .
Services
From 1999 to 2003, Wolfgang Schneider was state chairman of the Association of German Architects BDA in Lower Saxony. In 2003 he was elected President of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects ; In 2008 he was re-elected as president before Robert Marlow succeeded him in office. Wolfgang Schneider is a board member of the Federal Chamber of Architects, the Institute for Building Research IFB and hamburgplan AG. Since 2007 he has also been chairman of the board of the Laves Foundation , which aims to promote young professionals and the building culture . His professional achievements include numerous award-winning competitions, awards, structural realizations and publications in well-known magazines and book publications. In addition, Wolfgang Schneider has participated as a judge in various competition proceedings.
