Wolfgang Seeger (neurosurgeon)

Wolfgang Seeger (born July 13, 1929 in Nagold ; † September 24, 2018 ) was a German neurosurgeon , known as one of the founders of micro-neurosurgery.

Seeger received his doctorate in 1955 in Tübingen ( The optochiasmal meningeal cysts ) and completed his habilitation in Gießen in 1966. He was professor and head of the neurosurgical university clinic at the University of Freiburg. In 2001 he received the Otfrid Foerster Medal .

He was married to the economist Helga Seeger-Luckenbach .
