Otfrid Foerster Medal
The Otfrid Foerster Medal was donated in 1953 by the German Society for Neurosurgery in honor of Otfrid Foerster . The award has been given at irregular intervals since 1954, primarily to neurosurgeons who have presented noteworthy work, particularly in the field of neurology and neurophysiology . The award also includes honorary membership in the German Society for Neurosurgery.
The German Society for Epileptology (DGfE) has also been awarding an Otfrid Foerster Medal at irregular intervals since 2004 as an award for the life's work of people within the DGfE who have given epileptology a defining face.
