Hugo Krayenbühl

Hugo Krayenbühl (born December 3, 1902 in Zihlschlacht ; † January 9, 1985 in Zurich ) was a Swiss neurosurgeon and director of the neurosurgical university clinic in Zurich.

In 1937 Krayenbühl achieved "sensational, successful brain operations at the surgical clinic in Zurich"; from 1939 he headed the neurosurgical department. In 1941 he became a private lecturer , in 1948 an associate professor, and in 1963 a full professor at the University of Zurich .

Krayenbühl “achieved with his achievements in the operative epilepsy treatment, in the stereotactic and vascular surgery as well as v. a. high reputation in microneurosurgery and received numerous honors ”. He found his final resting place in the Enzenbühl cemetery .
