Wolfgang Werner (theologian)

Wolfgang Werner (* 1948 in Berge ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

Werner made his Abitur in 1967 at the municipal high school in Olpe and studied Catholic theology in Paderborn and Freiburg. On June 1, 1974, he celebrated his first Mass in Paderborn Cathedral . From 1974 to 1978 he was a pastor in Neheim-Hüsten and Gütersloh . In 1982, he was at the University of Augsburg in Rudolf Kilian with a dissertation on eschatological texts in Isaiah 1-39 Dr. theol. PhD. After his habilitation at the University of Augsburg , he was appointed professor for Catholic theology at the University of Hildesheim in 1989. At the same time he was the parish administrator at St. Elisabeth in Hildesheim's Oststadt . He wrote a commentary on the book of Jeremiah for the Catholic Biblical Works . In 2012 he moved to Olpe, moved to his parents' house in Lütringhausen and has been a subsidiar in the Olpe-Biggesee pastoral association ever since .
