The B 54 runs through Lütringhausen, which visually divides the village into two parts with the adjacent industrial development:

  • North of the B 54 is the much older part of Lütringhausen, in the form of a clustered village . The Maria vom Gute Rat chapel has stood here on a hill since 1890 .
  • The slope of the Rhonard south of the B 54 was not built on until around 1900.

history

Lütringhausen is mentioned in a document as early as 1360. In four documents from 1360, Hannemann von Lüterinchusen and his wife Bele sold shares and rights to the Gute Rosendayl to the Drolshagen monastery. The place name was formed from a personal name and -inghausen and therefore means "settlement of the people of Liutards / Luters / Lothars". This formation can also be found in the neighboring towns of Rehringhausen, Rüblinghausen, Thieringhausen.

Lütringhausen was an "industrial village" from an early age. In 1612 a steel hammer with 3 herds is mentioned. The men's professions in 1775 clearly show this. Of the 23 men, 4 were miners, 7 were broadsmiths or had to do with a hammer, 5 day laborers and servants, 3 piece forges, 1 steel smith, 1 copper smelter, 1 carter, 1 carpenter and 1 cattle herder.

In 1834 Peter Josef Ruegenberg from Olpe bought the hammer. Two large water wheels drove a fan. There were 5 belt drop hammers there, an electric motor can be detected in 1915. In the hammer mill were u. a. Balls for stone mills made, later u. a. Flanges in die hammers. On January 1, 1930, the hammer mill was incorporated into the Hoesch AG Dortmund steelworks . Today the company is called " ThyssenKrupp Federn und Stabilisatoren GmbH" and supplies components for the chassis technology of automobiles.
