The place is located northeast of Olpe directly on the B 55 .

history

The part of the name "-mert" can be traced back to the word " bracht ". The Griesemert was in the Prussian original cadastre (around 1830) a field name for a larger area in which three neighboring towns had a share. It is uncertain whether there is a first mention from 1248. It is certain that in 1483 the place was called Grysemerth.

On October 13, 2008, WDR was in the middle of the village with its series .
