Wolfgang Zeitlmann

Wolfgang Zeitlmann (born July 5, 1941 in Prien am Chiemsee ) is a German politician of the CSU .

Life

Zeitlmann passed his Abitur in 1961. This was followed by law studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with the first and second state exams. He has been a lawyer since 1972. He is a Roman Catholic , has four children and is married to Gerda Hasselfeldt for the second time .

politics

Zeitlmann joined the CSU in 1962 and was honorary first mayor of the municipality of Bernau am Chiemsee from 1972 to 1987 . He also sat for his party from 1978 to 1987 as a member of the Rosenheim district council .

Zeitlmann was a member of the German Bundestag for five terms from 1987 to 2005 . He was elected for the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU), most recently as a direct candidate for the constituency 224 Rosenheim . In the Bundestag he sat, among other things, as deputy chairman of the parliamentary control body and as a full member of the legal committee. In addition, he acted as domestic and legal policy spokesman and chairman of the working group inside, law, sport and honorary office, culture and media of the CSU regional group in the Bundestag. Previously, he was also a full member of the Interior Committee, the Committee on Youth, Family, Women and Health and the Petitions Committee.

Awards

Zeitlmann has been a holder of the Bavarian Order of Merit since July 17, 2003 .
