Wolfram Dressler

Wolfram Heinz Dressler is a Canadian geographer . He is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne in Australia .

Life

Dressler grew up as the son of German-born Canadians in Toronto in southern Ontario . He studied for his Bachelor of Arts in Geography, Anthropology and Environmental Studies at York University and for his Master in Natural Resources Management at the University of Manitoba . In 2005 he received his PhD in Geography from McGill University . He worked in the Forest and Nature Conservation Policy Group (FNP), Wageningen University in the Netherlands . Since July 2014 he has worked as part of the ARC Future Fellow at the School of Geography at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Wolfram Dressler researched the sustainable use of various forest communities, mostly in tropical forests. It includes questions of nature conservation and nature conservation policy . In Melbourne, Dressler deals with nature conservation and development issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
