Wolfram Stronk

Wolfram Stronk (born November 17, 1919 in Opole , Upper Silesia , † April 10, 2003 in Unterschleissheim ) was a German officer in the Wehrmacht, most recently a highly decorated and multiple wounded captain of the Air Force and Knight's Cross in the Second World War as well as entrepreneur and local politician in the post-war period.

Life

After the war and as a prisoner of war, Stronk became a merchant for edible oils and fats. In 1946 he settled in Unterschleißheim with his wife . There he founded the Free Electoral Community in 1954. The group merged in 1972 with the citizens' association for free citizenship and Stronk remained chairman until 1991.

Until his resignation in May 1992, he was a member of the Unterschleißheim municipal council for 30 years, including many years as the only free party member. From 1972 to 1978 he was 2nd mayor and from 1979 to 1990 3rd mayor. When Mayor Hans Bayer (SPD) became seriously ill, Stronk took over provisional management of the town hall and, after Bayer's death, continued to run the business until Mayor Rolf Zeitler (CSU) was appointed.

He was a founding member of the local men's choir and chess club. He is also considered the spiritual father of the partnerships with the French community Le Crès and the Thuringian city of Lucka .
