World Combat Games / Boxing
The World Combat Games were under supervision and the rules of AIBA and in collaboration with SportAccord competitions, boxing discharged. Boxing took place in ten weight classes for men and three weight classes for women. The competition was divided into quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, with the two semi-final losers in each weight class receiving a bronze medal. 115 male and 22 female boxers took part in the two competitions in 2010 and 2013.
The two-time Olympic champion and three-time world champion in light flyweight Zhou Shiming is the most famous tournament winner.
Russia won the most gold medals (8 pieces).
In May 2015, AIBA President Wu Ching-Kuo announced that boxing would no longer be part of the World Combat Games.
